The Infor Landmark database captures the business events/records for the Infor CloudSuite Financials & Supply Management and Infor Global Human Resources applications. In addition, it captures the supportive events for those applications. Some examples include application job output, process triggers, application generated email messages, and user-generated documents.
Since the Infor Landmark database captures these supportive events over time, the database size grows with the potential to cause customer performance issues. Some examples include Infor Landmark application performance decrease, data copies taking an extended time period, and general database size increase. An Infor Landmark application administrator is required to set record retention policy for these business classes/tables and enable purging schedules. Infor will be posting here on the Infor Technology Blog an additional series of Infor Landmark data videos to support this administrative process. The video demonstrations are hosted and narrated by one of Infor’s foremost Infor Landmark subject matter experts, Glen Rexing, Manager Consulting.
In this post’s part 2 video, Glen focuses on the maintenance requests delivered within the Infor Landmark Technology Runtime platform-based Infor CloudSuite applications. These maintenance schedules are accessible from the Async Administrator. This video will assist Infor Landmark application administrators’ understanding on how to set the proper retention parameters, schedule settings and enablement of these maintenance requests. Questions like “Are all data areas covered by one maintenance purge request on a business class” or “Can retention policy be different for each business class requiring maintenance” will be answered. For this video series it will be important to watch sequentially as the topics build on the knowledge.
