Infor Lawson System Foundation 220.127.116.11 was released in April 2015 and it contains many noteworthy new enhancements that will interest our blog readers. Here is a quick rundown of what you will find in this release:
Support for encryption during installation.
Infor has improved the security of configuration data by encrypting any passwords and other sensitive information managed by the installation program. An important consequence of this change is that the user performing an installation (or subsequent update or patch) must define and remember a passkey.
The configuration protection passkey must be provided when requested by the installation program so that secure data can be encrypted and decrypted as required.
After the passkey is created, remember it. You will need it to maintain the product through subsequent patches or updates.
If the passkey is lost or needs to be changed, for example, because of the possibility that it has been compromised, you can define a new one. You will need to know all other passwords in the install.cfg file in order to re-encrypt them with the new encryption key.
The passkey and instructions for changing and resetting should be shared only with trusted employees.
