One of Infor Process Automation’s most powerful capabilities is automatically routing work to people for review and approval (or rejection). This capability is commonly referred to as “workflow.” Automatically routing work to people for review and action based on business rules is one of the most compelling use cases for a business process management (BPM) application like the Infor Process Automation product. Oftentimes organizations struggle with envisioning how their business processes can be automated. So the next recorded video in the Infor Process Automation tutorial series will demonstrate Infor Process Automation’s powerful capabilities for automating business processes that include human review and approval workflow. No matter how simple or complex, business processes including human review and approval can be automated using the Infor Process Automation product. The focus of using Infor Process Automation to automate business processes including human review and approval workflow is the Infor Process Designer’s User Action activity node. The User Action activity node for human review and approval workflow processes is a feature that customers should use on day one when implementing Infor Process Automation.
Contributing another recorded video in the Infor Process Automation tutorial series is Kristin Juchems, Application Software Engineer. Currently, Kristin uses Infor Process Automation to provide integration between Infor Lawson applications and ION as well as other software applications.

The User Action activity node is one of the Infor Process Designer’s most powerful features. The User Action activity node is where the person designing the business process configures the information that human reviewers will use to make a decision. The User Action activity node can be configured with the actions human reviewers are allowed to select, email reminders to take action, escalations to automatically take action or route work to other human reviewers after defined time periods, and a new feature to take action directly from an end user’s email Inbasket. I use the User Action activity node as I develop my business processes that require human review and approval. Watch the video below for a short tutorial on how it works using a purchase requisition approval business process as an example.
